Xiaomi Announced The Mi 6X In China With Snapdragon 660, 12MP+20MP Rear Cameras, 20MP Selfie Camera And More

Xiaomi just dropped the Mi 6X in China & it is quite a interesting package overall. The device has targeted towards photography & that includes selfies too. So, there are highlights on the Camera but, the performance section is quite a surprise as well.

Mi 6X Highlighting Specifications

The pricing for the Mi 6X starts at 1599 Yuan (~16.9K INR) in China for the 4GB 64GB variant. The 6GB, 64GB variant will cost 1799 Yuan (~19K INR) & the 6GB, 128GB variant will cost 1999 Yuan (~21.1K INR).

The Snapdragon 660 is a surprise here because, no other brand is currently offering the SOC at that price point. The SD660 is significantly faster compared to the SD630 & SD636 which are the most common SOCs that competitors offer within that segment.

However, Xiaomi’s main highlight here are again the Cameras. So, there are two Cameras on the back with one being a 12MP regular camera with f-1.75 aperture & the other one being a 20MP Camera with the same aperture but smaller pixel size. This setup enables Portrait mode in the same way that we saw in the OnePlus 5T as well. But, this time Xiaomi has stepped up the game a little bit by throwing AI Scene Recognition. This feature works almost the same as we saw in the Mi Mix 2S so, literally the Camera can identify a variety of subjects & tweak the Camera settings accordingly. The Selfie shooter uses a 20 Megapixel Sensor which is the exact same (IMX376) one found on the Telephoto camera on the back. The Front Camera also supports portrait mode for selfies.

There is a 3010 mAh Battery which is smaller than the 4000 mAh battery Redmi Note 5 Pro. However, Xiaomi has thrown in Quick Charge 3.0 which will be able to juice up the Mi 6X quickly.

In China the Mi 6X will be available starting 27th April. However, in India the device will possibly be known as the Mi A2 & it may arrive later in the 3rd or 4th week of May.
