The Snapdragon 845 is coming sooner than we expected. Qualcomm will be announcing their new SOC in their Snapdragon Tech Summit Keynote event on December 5. A Tweet from Qualcomm confirms this news.

The tweet also confirms the time for the event that is 1.30 pm Eastern Time (5th Dec) or 10.30 am Pacific Time (5th Dec) or 00.00 am i.e 12.00 am (6th Dec) Indian Standard Time.
The Snapdragon 845 will be powering most of the high-end Flagships in 2018. Starting right from the Galaxy S9 from Samsung, we’ll be seeing phones from Sony as well in the first lot. Later on, brands like LG, ASUS, HTC will also be announcing their flagships powered by this SOC.
We are still not sure if Qualcomm is using a 8nm Process Technology or a 10nm Process Technology for the 845 but, looking at the newly announced Exynos 9810, the Snapdragon 845 may use a 10nm Process Technology again. The Boost Clock speed is expected to be as high as 2.6 GHz & SOC should be around 35-40% faster in terms of overall performance. The new Adreno 630 GPU (or maybe Adreno 680) will also push some noticeable improvements in graphical performance.
Some AI capabilities are also going to be a thing for the Snapdragon 845 but, we’ll have to see how Qualcomm can compete with the A11 Bionic & the Kirin 970 in this segment. So, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for the Snapdragon 845 !
