BenQ Announced Two New 4K Projectors In India With Rec.709, HDR10 Support and More

4K projectors are slowly picking up the pace in India & thanks to BenQ, we have a new BenQ 4K Projector duo as options to choose from. BenQ just announced their W1700M & TK800M in India. They kinda look the same with probably a different body color scheme going on. But, the TK800M is actually the more affordable version of W1700M so, it does lose some quality in the image.

BenQ W1700M

The BenQ W1700M is the flagship here. It covers about 100% of the Rec. 709 color gamut and supports HDR10 & Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG). It’s 4K so, it can project a 3840×2160 visual on the projection screen. BenQ claims that the HDR performance of the W1700 should be excellent & the lamp can go up to 15000 hours in total. It also has a 5W speaker unit built in so, in case the users have no audio equipment, they can still listen to the audio. Though, that’s probably not going to be a super pleasant experience.

The TK800M is a slightly toned down version. Unlike the W1700M, it covers about 96% of the Rec. 709 color gamut instead of 100%. So, the image should be slightly less vibrant. The image above does show HDR so, it probably has HDR too but, we’re not sure about the HLG. Now, this one also supports 4K so, no compromises in resolution there. The brightness is 3000 lumens at max but, we’re not sure if that’s the same or less compared to the W1700 as we don’t know the brightness of that one yet.

Pricing

The BenQ TK800M will cost you around 1,99,000 INR but, if you want the W1700M, you’ll need to pay 2,10,000 INR. So, about 11K INR extra for that extra quality. The new BenQ 4K Projector duo are on sale now & are available through all of the leading Home AV integration partners of BenQ.
