The Mi 7 has been dropped & instead we’ll be getting the Mi 8. The reason that Xiaomi is jumping to the number “8” is because 2018 is the year for their 8th Anniversary. However, Xiaomi has finally made the launch date for the Mi 8, official.
Donovan Sung, the Global Spokesperson & Director of Product Management and Marketing, has posted an update on his social Media accounts, announcing that they’ll launch the Mi 8 in the annual flagship product launch on May 31 in Shenzhen, China.

The Mi 8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 of course with 6 Gigabytes of RAM & there might also be an 8th Anniversary special edition, with 8 Gigabytes of RAM and a slightly different & improved design. In both cases there will be a Notch & there might also be an Under-display Fingerprint Scanner.
Xiaomi is probably also throwing Wireless Charging support in the & it is rumored that the 8th Anniversary Special Edition might ship with a free Wireless Charger inside the box. The Mi 7 is expected to be priced very aggressively & it might actually start somewhere between 449-499 US Dollars. So, we are definitely pumped up for the & we can’t wait to see what Xiaomi actually comes up with on 31st May.
